Dolphin Lounge

2200 N. Ashland Avenue
Chicago, IL

The unique history of The Dolphin Lounge, which was originally a mechanic’s garage and has since turned into a jazz club, offers character that should not go unnoticed.  In the 1990’s, the building opened as a jazz club and performance venue, named after a famous jazz song entitled “On Green Dolphin Street”.   The club stood strong for almost 15 years until 2010, when The Green Dolphin shut its doors to the public. The building is now reopening with a retro-chic interior.  The large facility will house various spaces, including The Ballroom for 225 guests, The Dolphin Lounge for 175 guests, The Green Room for 30 guests and its elegantly landscaped back lawn that extends to the Chicago River, which will accommodate 300 guests.  The project is to be completed in the spring of 2013; Green Dolphin is popular for weddings, reunions, birthday parties, rehearsal dinners, and corporate events.
